Instagram live is probably my favorite thing so I always hop on even if I'm not that interested in the topic of conversation. Almost every time I join a live session, I'm always rewarded with a beauty secret reveal.

Then it happened.
The person literally asked what was on everyone's mind. "What's your skincare regimen?"
Imogen was on live video, laying in bed without a stitch of makeup and her skin was flawless. She kept apologizing for her appearance but, in actuality, she was glowing.
Of course, we were all dying to know if she would shout out any product(s) or rituals as the reason why she looked amazing first thing in the morning.

The mystery woman informed Imogen that all she used was pure African black soap. After incorporating African black soap into her regimen everything changed. Imogen explained that instead of spending a bunch of money on multiple products, she just uses pure African black soap and her skin flourished.
It's been a while since I've used black soap so I did a little digging to find out why it's so beneficial. From what I gather, this soap is rich in antioxidants, vitamin E, and essential fatty acids.
But what stopped me dead in my tracks is when I read, on multiple websites, that black soap gave results similar to microdermabrasion.
Wait....
What?!
How?!
Apparently, one of the many wonderful benefits of this amazing soap is its exfoliating properties. That's because of the natural plant enzymes derived from the plantain skins used in creating the soap. This gentle exfoliation promotes the fading of blemishes and acne scars. A soap that nourishes and exfoliates is a-ok in my book. We all know that regular exfoliation is a foundational pillar of bright, healthy skin. According to the claims, black soap cleanses, nourishes, treats acne, exfoliates and brightens skin. No wonder why Imogen proclaimed that African black soap is the only skin care product she swears by. This soap contains all the mysteries of life itself! Well....maybe not, but it sure does seem to create really pretty skin.
What more can we ask for?
I will say that since using black soap as a body wash exclusively for that last two years I've had minimal eczema flare ups during the winter months and also my skin is not as dry as it once was.
