That day has come.
Elle reached out to Justine for her to give us a glimpse of her morning wakeup routine. After reviewing the video a couple of times, it seems pretty legit. Justine pretty much rushes through the products she used and doesn't take time to fully explain the names of each product used. That leads me to believe this is an #unsponsored reveal of her actual skincare faves.
Best of all, I've stumbled on a couple of recommendations that I'll probably add to my own collection.
One of the first things Justine does upon waking up is to enjoy a large cup of matcha. Once upon a time, I enjoyed a cup of morning matcha. Not only is matcha delicious, it also provides a nice source of steady caffeine. Like me, Justine is caffeine sensitive yet does well with matcha. Matcha gives you a slow, steady release of caffeine with no crash. The energy factor is just the beginning, matcha is an exceptionally healthy drink. It is absolutely loaded with antioxidants....and I mean loaded. Even more than green tea. The list of matcha benefits is lengthy from improved brain function to heart and liver benefits. To top it off, matcha can also help promote weight loss by increasing fat loss/calorie expenditure. It's the perfect way to start the day.
If you haven't tried matcha green tea powder before, maybe now is a good time to get into it.
Now let's talk about her skin routine.
The very first thing I noted was how Justine goes for a cleanser made for acne-prone skin. When you look at her skin, she looks like she's never had a breakout in her life. I keep seeing this pattern of women with perfect skin using products to help keep breakouts at bay. I wonder if this is the exact reason why their skin is the way it is. If your cleanser does a decent job of preventing breakouts, you won't have to worry about congestion, scars, and discoloration. You can then focus on what matters most---keeping your skin hydrated and glowing.
Hence why the bulk of Justine's routine is focused on intense moisture. As I stated earlier, she kinda rushes through her morning routine without detailing every product used. I did my best to identify all of her staples.....here it goes.
Moisturizer #1- After toning, she follows up with Clinique's moisturizer. Honestly, I couldn't find the exact product online (I think it's this one) but I did find a suitable alternative in Clinique's moisturizing gel.
Moisturizer #2: Clinique's dramatically different moisturizer cream. A heavier, richer formula to provide longer-lasting moisture.
Facial Oil:Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate. A blend of oils and botanicals that help the skin look radiant.
Facial Spray: Kiehl's Cactus Flower & Tibetan Ginseng Hydrating Mist.
Glow Enhancing Product: Kiehl's Glow Formula Skin Hydrator. A lightweight, 24-hour moisturizer that improves the skin's natural glow and leaves it radiant.
I'm in the market for an illuminating, travel-friendly product that I can wear daily or on nights out. This one was immediately added to my Sephora basket. What I enjoyed most about this video vs. evening beauty routines, is we get to see the detailed process that produces her naturally glowing skin.
