As you all probably know, my favorite thing to discover on Instagram are the beauty products loved by semi-celebrities. I'm obsessed with unsponsored, behind-the-scenes glimpses of what the girlies are using to create amazing skin.
And I love sharing the beauty secret reveals with you.
Model & tv-hostess, Kayla Nicole, has been glowing lately. Perhaps it might have something to do with a recent reconciliation with her NFL beau Travis Kelce. Or, maybe it's because she discovered a routine that makes her skin look unreal.
I've followed Kayla Nicole for a while now. With the exception of a few flare-ups here and there, she always had nice skin. But lately, her skin has been top tier. I'm sure her DMs were bursting with requests to discuss her current line-up. Thankfully, Kayla generously responded to the requests and provided a quick look at her simple routine. For the most part, Kayla always wears a bare face (when she's not on set). Typically, she looks like she doesn't have a stitch of makeup on. But don't be fooled, she let it be known that sunscreen is a part of her daily life.
Kayla made sure to rep her favorite brand, Black Girl Sunscreen.
If you aren't a daily sunscreen wearer, I'd like you to use Kayla's skin as motivation to get consistent. Not only does sunscreen keep your skin younger, longer. It's an integral part of helping to treat acne scars.
Ok, now let's get to the good stuff....In a recent series of stories, Kayla introduces us her to favorite serums du jour. In no particular order, she revealed her serum stack one by one.
1. } THE RENEWAL OIL // LA MER
"Nourishes and Softens for an instant glow."
La Mer is an all-time favorite in the luxury skincare world. I honestly thought La Mer was just another overpriced brand...until I tried their Treatment Essence and fell in love. Kayla prefaces her video by noting that La Mer's Renewal Oil is her favorite. According to the product description, this multitasking oil is supposed to improve firmness and soften the look of fine lines and wrinkles. This thing is loaded with ingredients. It has a ton of extracts, carrier oils, and a few superfoods (like seaweed and chlorella) thrown in for good measure. After checking out the reviews, this renewal oil seems a little hit or miss. Either your skin will absolutely LOVE it or you'll think the oil just ok.
2.} LUMEN NORDIC-C ARCTIC BERRY OIL
"A bi-phase hydra-oil that replenishes even the driest skin."
At only $24.99 his brightening oil is a bit more budget-friendly. Because of its vitamin C content, this product is, in essence, Kayla's vitamin C serum. The ingredients seem yummy. There are a few fruit extracts that elevate the serum's vitamin and antioxidant content. Although the first ingredient is water, it contains a few carrier oils and squalane. So it's like an oil-serum fusion that hydrates and protects & corrects.
3.} SKINCEUTICALS HA INTENSIFIER
" A multifunctional corrective serum that helps amplify the skin's hyaluronic acid levels."
We probably all have a hyaluronic acid serum in our arsenal, but how many of them can claim to increase HA levels in the skin by 30%? Only a brand like Skinceuticals can make such a bold claim. This serum also promises to help reduce smile lines and crow's feet. They even have a before and after pic on their site to help support their claim. One thing that stuck out for me was the addition of licorice root to help address discoloration. Not only is this a hydrating, anti-aging serum, it also helps correct dark spots. Win-win.
Oh, one last thing....Kayla is a card-carrying member of the frequent exfoliators club.
Is anyone surprised?
Kayla's exfoliator of choice is a cult classic that contains both chemical and physical exfoliants.
When you step back and observe her routine from afar, it's no wonder that Kayla's skin is basically flawless. She exfoliates dead skin, wears sunscreen daily, and invests in highly potent serums. Kayla's serum lineup boosts hydration while correcting her skin and delaying the signs of aging. So yeah, it all makes sense.
Another great exfoliator/glow booster is Lancer Skincare Caviar Lime Acid Peel with Glycolic Acid 10% + Phytic Acid 10% + Retinol (1.7 oz.) mixed with a scoop of dry GOOD MOLECULES VITAMIN C BOOSTER POWDER massaged in and worn into the shower and rinsed off before stepping out.
ReplyDeleteThis combination sounds absolutely divine. Adding these to my wish list. Thanks for sharing!
