Although I've worn a mask in public for the past year, I've still purchased more lip products in the past year than ever. Maybe it's because a part of me misses wearing lip color. Or perhaps, I've been stockpiling in preparation for the day when we can safely interact in public without masks again.
When that day comes, I'll be ready.
Especially now that I've found my new favorite lip products.....Colour Pop Lippie Stix.
Let me tell you all the ways I love them.
But first, I'll tell you a story about how I got introduced to Colour Pop 5 years ago. In 2016, I was one year into my entrepreneurship journey. I had a lot of free time which led me to fall down the rabbit hole of watching reality television. One show I was really into back then was Big Brother. That year there was a houseguest named Zakiyah who was always flawless. She'd wake up early in the morning, do her makeup and it would look amazing until the houseguests went to bed. |

I was obsessed with her lip color. She'd wear these flattering brown and burgundy lipsticks that perfectly matched her skin tone. Once the show was over, she was bombarded with questions about her lip shades. That's when Zakiyah revealed that she wore Colourpop's Liquid lipsticks while in the house. Immediately I picked up a few of their liquid lipsticks. From first impressions, their formula was long-lasting and flattered deeper skin tones but the formula was too drying for my taste.
I moved on to other brands but couldn't find a line with multiple options that flatter highly pigmented lips. Fast forward five years and, I've once again reconnected with the budget-friendly beauty brand.

A creamy formula with intense pigmentation is everything I've been praying for. And, at only $7.00 a pop, I had to grab a few. Happy to report back that I've loved each shade I've purchased (browns, reds, nudes, and pinks). Nowadays, I find myself reaching for my Lippie Stix more than any other lip color I own.
