Who doesn't love a good transformation? Typically we see a lot of before and after body transformations. But what's better than a total face transformation achieved without the aid of fillers or surgery?
That's what I want to talk about today.
In the past, I was asked by facialists if I wanted to dabble in the world of
botox and fillers as an anti-aging measure. Although I knew that botox
and fillers were viable options, I decided to put all of my eggs in the
"facial tool & massage" basket. At the time, I didn't know if this
strategy would actually be as effective, but I'm here today sharing a great
example of the power of manual facial toning.
The side-by-side image above was captured from an IG video. It starts
off with footage from 2 years ago by a woman who just discovered
the wonders of gua sha
facial toning. Gua sha massage is the practice of incorporating jade
tools to sculpt and tone the face. I have a few gua sha tools laying
around, but I can't say that I've used them consistently.
All that is about change, because I've seen with my own eyes the power of
daily gua sha massage.

Let's break this video down into actionable steps.
In 2019, we could see that she had obvious eyebags and slight discoloration on
her forehead. Her cheekbones also weren't that prominent.
In the final face reveal, her skin is glowy and even-toned. Her mid-face
is lifted and we see the emergence of high cheekbones. Her undereye area
has improved dramatically.
Here are the basics of her daily routine:
-Prep the skin for massage using
facial oil.
-Lymphatic massage with jade roller in the morning.
-Gua sha massage in the evening.
Not only was she consistent, but she also carried out her routine TWICE
a day. The addition of facial oil probably helps create that
natural-looking glow. Did you notice that she also used her roller
while wearing a sheet mask? Pairing your serums/hydrators with a
jade roller is said to help the product better penetrate the skin. No
wonder why her face looks so healthy. Every day for two years, she
constantly engaged in an activity that promoted blood flow to the skin.
It's no surprise that her dark under eyes diminished so
drastically.

Since stumbling on this video, I've dusted off my gua sha tools and got really serious about making this a part of my daily routine again. Two years from now our faces will all change. It's a natural part of life. The question is, will your face look slightly older than it does today, or will it be more toned, supple, and lifted?
