Jasmine Tookes Reveals Her Fall Lip Combo..and It's Absolutely Perfect

Beauty
Every fall, I have these grandiose fantasies of putting away pastel-colored nail polishes and pink lip glosses for merlot lacquers and mahogany-hued lipsticks.  I've always wanted to fully participate in fall makeup trends but couldn't execute it properly.  Eventually, I ditched the idea of wearing bold, dark-colored lipsticks because it gave "goth girl" rather than "fall makeup" on me.

But now, I'm ready to try fall makeup again thanks to the supermodel who showed me exactly how it's done.

Jasmine Tookes is no stranger around here. She's been inspiring us for years. As a Victoria's Secret fashion model, Jasmine has sat in countless makeup artist chairs where she's learned beauty tips from the best. And by observing Jas applying her lipstick in a recent story, I have learned something from her.

The fall lip combo that prompted this post was revealed while Jasmine was vacationing on a yacht off the coast of Europe. For her evening makeup look, Jasmine opted for a darker lip which immediately made me think of fall.

Her dinner on the Yatch lip combo consisted of only two products.

That lip combo instantly grabbed my attention because I've been held hostage with Mac's Chestnut liner for decades. Maybe it's time I ventured out into uncharted territory if my aim is to upgrade my makeup routine.  I like the idea of leaning more toward a reddish brown instead of always reaching for a pure brown liner. A "brownish burgundy" pencil might be the exact shade I need.
The next key takeaway from Jasmine's lip combo...and the most important lesson of all, is her application process.  Pay close attention as she applies her lipstick in a very dainty and demure manner thereby transforming her lipstick into a lipstain.
It was at that very moment the trajectory of my life changed.

I can not tell you how many times I've attempted to find a lip stain that perfectly complimented my lips.  Some of them had ok pigment but horrible formulas and no lasting power. I'd completely given up on the idea that I'd find the perfect lip stain when I came across her video.

Immediately, I rushed over to my collection of long abandoned deep crimson lipsticks and found the darkest shade I owned....one that I've never actually worn in public.   I sparingly applied the color (using Jasmine's method) in a way that still allowed my natural lip color to remain visible. The end result was exactly what I had been looking for.

My lips were stained to perfection.

Finally, I found a way to wear deep burgundy shades without it looking like Halloween makeup.

The era of the Fall Tinted lip has arrived.
