Lori Harvey Launches a Luxury Smoothie with Erewhon... Let’s Make it at Home

Beauty Secrets

Lately, I’ve noticed a few influencers raving about a high-end natural food market in LA with incredibly hefty prices for everyday grocery items. Erewhon features aesthetically pleasing displays of vibrantly colored prepared meals and snacks but its main draw is their famous celebrity-branded smoothies.

Time and time again, I kept hearing about the infamous Hailey Bieber smoothie influencers were obsessed with.  This Bieber smoothie quickly became as famous as the person it was named after.  No one even seemed bothered by the $20.00 price tag.

I took a quick gander at the ingredients for Hailey’s Erewhon smoothie and, honestly, wasn’t all that impressed with what I saw.  Most of the reviewers raved about the taste but, as a smoothie connoisseur, I was interested in something a little more….robust (especially for the price tag).

Erewhon must’ve been reading my thoughts because, recently, they launched a new smoothie that matches my freak.  Erewhon partnered with yet another celebrity to be the face of their popular smoothie concoctions.

They've landed “it girl” and socialite Lori Harvey as their latest smoothie ambassador.

Lori is the perfect partner for Erewhon’s new launch because homegirl is committed to her wellness routine.  As someone who’s followed her for years, I’ve witnessed and written about a few of her beauty secrets and health rituals.  Lori has always been a believer in wellness beverages and juice shots. Launching her own smoothie was the obvious next step.

My first thought after seeing the Lori Harvey smoothie post on IG was “good for her” for being included with the likes of Hailey Bieber and Katy Perry in the Erewhon smoothie Hall of Fame.  But when I saw the ingredients, I sat up in my seat.

With every passing ingredient, I became more and more impressed until finally, I came to realize that I must have this smoothie for myself. Unfortunately, I live thousands of miles away from Erewhon's closest location.  Even if I lived nearby, I'm not sure my budget would allow for $25 smoothies on a regular basis.  Sure, maybe you can justify splurging once on a Lori Harvey smoothie but with this ingredient lineup, you'll want to consume it regularly to reap the potential benefits.

So let’s talk about why I must recreate Lori’s vanilla matcha smoothie at home.
The first reason is because I have a few of the ingredients already on hand.  If you’re a fan of matcha, you probably have high quality matcha and oat milk at home.  There’s also a good chance you also have collagen powder on deck so you're already off to a great start.  The next ingredient on the list after collagen was tocos…which I had never heard of before and had no idea what it was.  But when I learned the of truth of tocos, I immediately wanted it in my possession.

Apparently, tocos is a skin food powder that will completely change your life.  Tocos is essentially rice brand soluables that are densely packed with vitamin E ( the healthy skin antioxidant).  Tocos also provides naturally occurring b vitamins, amino acids, biotin, essential fatty acids, and more.  Based on the reviews, this stuff tastes pretty good and makes drinks slightly creamier.  Basically, it’s the perfect compliment to your coffee, tea or smoothie.  I didn’t even mention how reviewers are boasting about how tocos made a visible difference in their hair and skin.  I will 100% be buying this.

Next on the list is Lion’s Mane.  I became familiar with Lion’s Mane when I started researching nootropics for optimal brain health.  Lion’s mane is a mushroom that's been shown to improve mental performance in mice with age-related mental decline.  I’ve given lion’s mane powder to an elderly relative.  With consistent use, they experienced clear improvements in memory and recall.  I will forever be a fan of Lion's Mane because of this.  Adding Lion's Mane to your morning smoothie will improve focus while supporting brain health. It's a no-brainer.
Next on the ingredient list is Holi(mane) marine collagen and pearl powder blend.  I found the exact product online for $100 and quickly turned my attention elsewhere.  Before doing so, I scanned the list of ingredients and realized that Holi(mane) combined two types of collagen into one product.

I wondered if the practice of adding marine and bovine collagen in one drink had any significance.  Based on some quick research, I learned that bovine collagen contains type I and type III whereas marine powder has type I and type II collagen.  Bovine collagen is similar in molecular structure to human collagen but marine collagen is smaller in size allowing for easier absorption by the body.  That’s why you’ll sometimes notice reviewers saying they experienced more obvious results with marine collagen vs. bovine. However bovine collagen contains more of the type of collagen found in the skin (marine collagen type II is more common in the joints).  By combining the two types of collagen into one drink, you’re hitting all bases.

I’ll definitely be combining the two going forward. Blending collagens together is the new twist on collagen loading that I never knew I needed.
Another ingredient that caught my eye is one of my long-time favorites, chlorella (I currently take chlorella capsules). The most notable benefit I experience from the chlorella is increased energy.  Whenever I have a busy schedule and need to get a lot done, I make sure to take my chlorella.  Then there’s sea moss gel (mineral rich, promotes a healthy gut, also great for skin health) along with MTC oil (energy, weight management, mental performance).  There's so much goodness packed into one drink, it's like it was made specifically for me.

Do I have all the ingredients to recreate Erewhon’s Lori smoothie?

Nope.

Will I recreate a smoothie inspired by Lori Harvey with the ingredients I have on hand?

Absolutely.

I've stockpiled the tocos, MTC oil, and sea moss gel into my Amazon cart but missing a few key ingredients won't stop me from adding whichever boosters I already own to matcha lattes from this day forth.

One day, I may make the elusive trip to the West Coast and hand over $25.00 for a chance to try a Lori Harvey smoothie. When that day comes, I'll be at peace knowing that I've been reaping the benefits of this amazing smoothie every morning in the comfort of my home.
