Great Expectations// The Manifestation Method That Will Change Your Life

Motivation
On Friday, pulling into the driveway, I checked my mailbox as usual. In the small stack of letters was a $120.00 check.  After thinking for a few moments, I finally realized that it was a refund for an expense I incurred years ago.  The check was totally unexpected. Apparently, I was overcharged and the office finally realized their error.

When the check arrived, I wasn't that surprised.  That's because, for over 10 years I received countless unexpected checks in the mail.  I attribute every single one of those random checks to a mantra that I adopted over a decade ago. The mantra is from the movie The Secret. There's a throwaway line spoken by Lisa Nichols where she talked about going through financial hardship and always finding bills in the mail.  Lisa then tells us that the act of always going to the mailbox and finding bills messes with our thoughts (and our vibration) because it brings out feelings of scarcity.

Lisa's advice:  "Instead of expecting bills....EXPECT A CHECK!'

From that day on, I would randomly say to myself "Expect a check (both silent and aloud). Sometimes I'd repeat Lisa's slogan when a check came in. Other times, I'd say it for no reason whatsoever. I could be doing something random and suddenly blurt out "Expect a check!"

I thought I was the only person who did this but then I found a blog post from someone who implemented Lisa's advice and was able to manifest over $10,000 in unexpected (expected) checks.

Here's an excerpt from the blog article:

Anyhoo when I got to page 72 with Lisa’s quote about bills and checks – after I’d finished chuckling – I made a conscious decision to do myself a favor and expect checks instead of bills. Guess what? Within the month I had a check through my letterbox from an old insurance policy I had taken on when I bought my first house 26 years previously, for $5000. Then a few weeks later I got another check from them saying they had made a mistake and I should take this check for another almost $5000, then a few weeks after that I started getting royalty checks and Paypal payments for my songs that I had been trying to sell to various companies in the U.S. for the past 3 years… simply amazing

After reading this person's experience, I vow to be more diligent in creating the expectation that random checks come to me all the time.

Then I came across a TikTok featuring Glenda Baker.  In the video, she reveals that she repeats the affirmation "My name is "Glenda Baker" and only good things happen to me." Apparently, she says it to herself 100 times a day.  That's impressive.  Another TikToker implemented Glenda's technique and raved on her account about how much of a difference those words made in her life.

Our brain creates tens of thousands of random thoughts throughout the day.  Most of those thoughts are unsupervised (subconscious). And most of our thoughts are negative or self-limiting.  Because of this, I understand the need to implant powerful thoughts into my routine.

As an entrepreneur, I realized I don't have a powerful mantra that I repeat regularly about my business.

As a wife, I realized I don't have any powerful words of affirmation that I repeat consistently about my marriage.

I see an opportunity to adopt a "catch phrase" for every area of my life.  If I constantly repeated what Kimora Lee once said ("a place for everything and everything in its place") maybe I'd achieve my goal of eliminating clutter in 2025. Repeating a phrase over and over doesn't change our external world right away....but it does start to impress on our subconscious mind and tapping into our subconscious can create an infinite number of possibilities.
